Derby winner FANTASTIC MOON is back - wins Grand Prix at Cologne

Prepared by Sarah Steinberg for Liberty Racing 2021, Fantastic Moon won the WETTSTAR.de Grosser Preis von Köln at Cologne racecourse on Sunday.
The €70,000 Group II race was originally scheduled for June 2 as the highlight of the Baden-Baden spring meeting as the Grosse Preis der Badischen Wirtschaft, but was held at Cologne instead due to the race day being canceled there because of the weather.
„He’s definitely back. That's how I know him," were some of the first words from winning jockey Rene Piechulek, who had served Fanta with perfect trip, just as he did when the team won the German Derby together. Parked in midfield early on, the Munich-based Sea The Moon son was able to calm down nicely and apparently did not seem to have any problems with his breathing this time. "I had a super race, he offered himself in the final stretch, then I let myself be pulled along a bit and then attacked and he didn't let me down," Piechulek continued.
