Derby winner Palladium 1.4 mio top seller at Arqana Arc Sale for Liberty Racing 2022

Liberty Racing 2022 dissolves syndicate with sale of Palladium and Argentum at the Arc Sale on the eve of the Arc.

The few spectators in the pavilion at Saint-Cloud racecourse who tried to applaud as the colt was led out of the ring were silenced from the podium, but the shiver of excitement that ran through the assembled crowd was palpable.

This is what the British Racingpost wrote the morning after the Arqana Arc Sale about the moment Palladium left the ring. This year's Derby winner was knocked down at the Arc Sale for 1.4 million euros to Highflyer Bloodstock, who purchased the Gleneagles son for Lady Carole Bamford and her Daylesford Stud. The second colt racing for Liberty Racing 2022 had already passed through the ring an hour earlier: Argentum, who finished fourth at Gr.3 level and was Listed-placed for the syndicate, was purchased by Blandford Bloodstock for €175,000.

The successful dissolution of the 2022 syndicate has thus begun. Founder Lars-Wilhelm Baumgarten was extremely pleased with the result of the Arc Sale and happy that Palladium is staying in Europe and will certainly get a good trainer to continue his career.

Baumgarten: "Palladium did a great job here for two days. We would like to thank everyone! To Gestüt Fährhof for the great breeding result and to Henk Grewe and his team for the great preparation here for the auction. And of course to OH Consignment by Nastasja Volz-Degel for the presentation here at the auction. Nastasja has done a super job."
